The quality of an emerald depends greatly on the eyes of the beholder. Some people prefer more vibrant colors,
while others prefer more clarity. True that most gems are valued higher if they have higher clarity,
but in the case with emeralds, often times people are willing to pay more for a gem that has more
inclusions provided that the color is a shade that pleases them most. Because this gemstone is a
rather soft mineral that often come with many internal cracks, they are often treated with oil for added strength.
